Background
Topical clindamycin is used to treat acne. Clindamycin is in a class of medications called lincomycin antibiotics. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of bacteria that cause acne and by decreasing swelling.

Pharmacology and mechanism of action of the drug
Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 23S RNA of the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. It impedes both the assembly of the ribosome and the translation process.
Before using clindamycin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to lincomycin; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Store this medicine at below 25 ° C, and away from light and moisture.
Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
- Adults and children 12 years of age and over—Apply two times a day to areas affected by acne.
- Infants and children up to 12 years of age—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
